My response to game design
The world of digital gaming has come a long way over the course of time. I find it amazing that we have come from the simplicity of Pong to the insane graphics and technology of games such as Gears of War 2 and Halo 3. More than 200 American colleges offer students the opportunity to gain the knowledge they need to become proficient in the art of game design. It’s pretty awesome that the world is producing such talented and creative individuals and the colleges are gaining recognition by the video game community for its entertainment value, and by the art community for its cultural value. One major thing that the gaming world does is borrow characters from movies. It is really a smart thing to do because the people who love the movie will buy the game and see if it can hold its own.
One big thing with playing video games a lot is that people might obtain health problems. Perhaps they will become overweight from constant sitting and playing and even eating while playing. But gamers don’t fear for the highly intelligent individuals that make up the gaming community have solved your problem with games such as Wii Fit and “exergames”, which are becoming more popular in the world of physical education. “Exergames” promote increased activity and generate excitement while doing so. It teaches kids that it is fun to run around a little bit and play. But the teens and young adults are not the only gamers focused on. Retirement homes across the country can be found using the Wii to stay in shape. It is a good feeling to know that the gaming world will always have our back.
